Bike sales or mechanic - Melbourne
Giant Hampton is a super friendly bike shop with a big heart. We're lucky enough to have a great looking store by the beach, stocked with luxury brands and staffed by a team that treats each other like family.
Our business has grown over the past few years and there are now more bikes in Bayside than ever. We are looking for new staff to help us keep our customers happy and community riding.
We require someone who loves at least one form of cycling, whether it's commuting, exploring bike paths, or racing in your chosen discipline. We ride together when we can and we're keen for you to join us.
It's also important that you have previous retail experience so you can hit the ground running (pedalling!) as this can be a fast paced environment.
For clarity, Full-Time is 5 days per week.
We are currently open Mon-Saturday and therefore weekend work will be required, as well as some Public/School Holidays.
Tasks & responsibilities
Meeting and greeting customers in store
Giving professional and friendly advice on all things cycling related
Answering phone and email enquiries
Replenishing stock and maintaining store presentation standards
Admin and Stock Management
Bicycle Repairs if you have mechanical skills
Must be able to work Saturdays
Providing first class customer service on a daily basis
Using spreadsheets and other online computer programs
Negotiation and co-operation with internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications & experience
At least 1 years Cycling/Sports Retail Experience
You must show a genuine interest in at least one form of cycling
The ability to understand and help customers find the product that suits their needs
Mechanical skills are a huge bonus
CRM/POS Software and general IT experience
Above par communication skills - for customers and staff alike
Attention to detail is paramount
You must be able to multitask in our fast paced environment
Motivated self starter who can prioritise
You will need to be adept at working supervised and unsupervised under your own steam
