Bicycle Network is Australia's largest bike riding organisation with almost 50,000 members, over 50 staff employees and more than 150 regular volunteers. For more than 40 years the organisation has been passionately and tirelessly supporting, educating and standing up for people who ride bikes. In 2011, the organisation changed its name to Bicycle Network, to reflect its vision to build a nation of bike riders. Now actively engaged nationally through events, advocacy and behaviour change programs such as Ride2School and Ride2Work, the organisation is progressing its purpose of making it easy for everyone to be physically active. Bicycle Network also provides members with an array of services including bike parking, rider rescue and bike insurance.

The Role

As Chief Executive Officer you will partner with a highly engaged Board and leadership team to continue to develop a Strategy focused on influencing and shaping community culture and infrastructure, whilst increasing engagement across all levels. You will bring this Strategy to life through active leadership, nurturing the high performance culture, developing young leaders, and embracing Bicycle Network's highly valued volunteers and suppliers.

You'll keep the interests of members at the heart of everything, and strengthen the organisation through growth, and by continuing to diversify its revenue streams. Your collaborative instincts will forge partnerships across the sector and around the country which will increase the organisation's impact. You'll also play a lead role in advocating for the change we need to see that will make Australia a nation of bike riders.

About You

You will be a highly regarded executive leader with the ability to influence, advocate and build strong stakeholder relationships with government and community through influential community engagement and media events. Ideally you will have leadership experience in a government, community, health or sporting organisation, possibly a membership organisation or Peak Body. You are highly regarded for your charismatic and progressive leadership, strong collaboration and exceptional stakeholder management skills. Your skills will be matched by your extensive networks in relevant government and industry circles. You will be passionate about making a difference for the community and advocating for all bike riders.
