As a key member of MAAP’s Design team, you will play a crucial role in shaping how MAAP develops innovative and performance-driven cycling apparel.

From the creation of Tech packs to general design tasks, you are completely at home in a fast-paced, creative team, demonstrating high-level strategic thinking and tackling day-to-day details.

Reporting into the Designer, you will support the design team with various tasks, such as product sketching, tech pack creation, trim / fabric collation, attending fittings and general daily tasks to help the team achieve its goals.

Though every day is different, your role will look like a mixture of the below:

  • Handling of daily design tasks related to the end-to-end Product Development process.

  • Help to sketch product range/item and maintain updated sketches for range overviews & tech packs

  • Assist Product Developer create Tech Packs for supplier handover.

  • Undertake seasonal trend research.

  • Attend all fit sessions with Designers and Garment Technician

  • Engage in any other design related tasks which may arise during the product life-cycle process.

  • Work seamlessly with your Design and Product counterparts.

A few things that you’ve likely done in previous and current roles:

  • Demonstrated borderline obsessive attention to detail during the product design / development process.

  • Achieved solid literacy with Adobe Suite and Office Suite, with strong competency in Adobe Illustrator.

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word & Excel).

  • Demonstrated hand and CAD sketching ability.

  • Understanding of graphic placement print also desirable.

  • Ability to work in fast paced environment and manage time effectively.

  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Must have excellent attention to detail and be highly organised.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Prior Design or performance wear experience preferred but not essential.

  • Relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification is preferred.

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a Design Assistant role or similar.
