Designer Cycle/Bike wear - Melbourne


Our client is an Upmarket Cycle wear Fashion house.

We are seeking a very strong candidate with exceptional design knowledge and a passion for the sport of cycling/bike riding.

Design and develop seasonal collections that respond to a creative brief and range plan.

Create new prints and artworks to be used in collections.

Brief client's suppliers to sample new designs ensuring that collections are delivered in line with company timetable deadlines. Manage the sampling process until Designs are finalised

Develop & prepare Technical Packs outlining all garment specifications for our suppliers.

Collaborate with our brand partners to design product collaborations & interesting gift with purchase promotional items.

Prepare seasonal selling material eg. Look Book assets

Highly creative with a strong sense of style

Ability to clearly communicate design briefs to manufacturers and give actionable feedback for the improvement and development of samples

Able to manage a sampling budget

Able to work to a critical path

Formal training and experience with design, pattern making and the production of technical apparel

Must be proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign

Research new fabrics, technical components, products and construction processes.

Research competitors’ collections and price points and analyse gaps in the market and opportunities for client's collection.

Research colour trends and work with the Creative Director to confirm the seasonal colour direction

Resourceful and inquisitive by nature.

Able to identify trends

A strong interest in technical apparel trends and an understanding of the cycling industry

An interest in global Fashion and Design trends

Liaise with the General Manager on range planning, stock and sales results to improve the product offer. Work together to ensure the requirements of the range plan are met.

Work with the Creative Director to design collections that respond to a creative brief and range plan. Focus on new product development, constantly evolving the collection and delivering market leading technical apparel.

Regularly communicate with the team to gather qualitative feedback from our customers that will improve products’ performance and identify missed opportunities

Forge strong relationships of mutual benefit with suppliers of high-quality products that will partner with client & enable its vision to deliver products that are best in category

An appreciation for product details and an understanding of what it means to take something from good to beyond great.

Up to date knowledge of technical production processes that improve garment performance.

Up to date knowledge of the cycling culture and competitor brands

FLEXIBLE HOURS FOR 38 HOUR WEEK. Start as early as 7.30am AND the opportunity for remote working.
