The financial accountant will play an important role providing support to the business and contributing to the overall success of the finance function. With responsibilities across financial accounting, analysis, compliance as well as ad-hoc project work.


  • Financial accounting for operations and coordinating the end of month process

  • Business partnering with internal stakeholders and stores

  • Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journals and accruals

  • Monthly reconciliation and lodgement of Payroll Tax

  • Preparation of monthly BAS

  • Assist with the implementation of new accounting standards or reporting requirements

  • Continually improving and streamlining process and systems to promote improved control and reporting across the finance function and store network

  • Involvement with the administration of accredited training funding including reporting and accruals

  • Assist stores with general finance queries

  • Assist with annual audit and preparation of statutory accounts

  • Adhoc project work


  • Degree qualified in Commerce/Accounting

  • CPA or CA qualified

  • Minimum 7 years experience in a financial accounting role


  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards

  • Expertise in statutory reporting, governance compliance and controls

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential

  • Demonstrate a high level of accuracy and organisational skills

  • Strong focus on accuracy and customer service

  • A “can do” proactive approach with the ability to adapt to changing priorities

  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • Strong communication skills and ability to solve problems

  • Partner with various departments and retail stores is critical
