About the role

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for developing and producing a variety of images to dress our retail stores around Australia. Reporting to the Store Design and Implementation Manager, you will be a part of developing ground-breaking retail environments for our direct owned stores.

Production and Application: (40%)

Apply knowledge of design and layout principles, aesthetic design concepts, and branding to the retail environment. Ability to communicate concepts and solutions through drawings and verbal communication in all phases of the process, to ensure the design is executable. Clear understanding and knowledge of material applications to secure proper 2D and 3D specifications for the project, budget and retail space. Build and maintain vendor relationships to ensure execution of design (interior and exterior signage, large format displays, p.o.p displays, etc).

Quality Assurance: (40%)

Ensure the document deliverables for all 2D and 3D elements are executable and clearly communicated to guarantee they are accurately fabricated and installed. Develop and maintain processes to ensure oversight of the fabrication and installation. Identify opportunities for improvement in the process and deliverables.

Environment Development: (20%)

Collaborate with internal design, marketing and product teams to develop and produce solutions for retail environmental and graphic design needs. Work within a team to understand concepts and develop 2D and 3D retail solutions for products and marketing to enhance the customer-focused experience. Maintain relationships with key internal clients to produce consistent solutions that meet the budget, space and brand goals at retail.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Graphic Design, Studio Arts, or a related discipline is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years experience within a creative team working with visual design or content creation, preferably as it applies to brand and product marketing, along with a portfolio of relevant work.

  • Has a good knowledge of corporate branding and digital media.

  • A good understanding of printing methods & techniques.

  • Illustration experience also desirable.

  • Must be comfortable working independently to execute projects.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision on projects, as well as organize and self-manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Ability to quickly grasp project parameters, brand standards, and templates while being sensitive to established creative integrity.

  • Experience in graphic design applications including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as Acrobat.

  • General Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
