Logistics manager - Sydney

While we have over 90 staff located across Australia, Asia, United States and Europe. This part-time role is based in our brand new refurbished office in Frenchs Forest, Sydney. Our team here works from Monday to Friday so that we can ride bikes on the weekend! What Will You Do? The Logistics Manager manages the flow of products and stock through the Bicycles Online warehouse. They are responsible for the movement, distribution and storage of supplies and materials as well as ensuring inventory is appropriately processed, organised and stored. The Logistics Manager is responsible for planning routes, analyzing budgets and processing shipments. The role oversees the daily operations of the warehouse team under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the effective implementation and improvement of the inventory system. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Selecting carriers and negotiating contracts and rates
Planning and monitoring inbound and outbound deliveries and routes
Supervising logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer receipt of goods
Organisation of the warehouse, labelling goods and processing shipments
Researching ideal shipping techniques, routing and carriers
Lead & develop the warehouse & logistics team
Working with other departments to incorporate logistics with company procedures and operations
Evaluating budgets and expenditures, balancing cost efficiencies with customer experience
Ensuring all operations adhere to laws, guidelines and ISO operations
Analysing data and preparing reports as required
Utilise and wear safety equipment as required
Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store inventory
Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards
Work as an active team member to complete team goals
Prepare documentation and inventory for audits
Work closely with product management team to ensure correct stock allocation to different warehouse locations
Oversee the relationship management and service delivery of the 3PL warehouse team
Daily monitoring of logistics operations efficiency, alerting customer service team of any delays in dispatch or delivery
Support customer satisfaction goals by responding to logistics related issues and complaints escalated by customer service or warranty teams
What You'll Have
2+ years’ experience in a similar role
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant field
Drivers license or certification to operate heavy machinery as required
Expertise in inventory management software and databases
In depth knowledge of the eCommerce or consumer goods industries
Able to operate heavy machinery or drive equipment
Outstanding analytical, problem solving and organizational abilities
Physically able to stand, sit, move, squat, walk and climb as required during the course of the shift
Comfortable working on their feet
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with inventory software and able to upload data into NETO
Able to work independently
Pays attention to detail and monitors the quality of inventory
Highly organised and able to store items efficiently
Must adhere to all health and safety procedures and regulations
Identifies and resolves or escalates safety issues and concerns
