POSITION: Online Store Administrator – Part time


The Ecommerce & Website Administrator for Urban Pedaler will help bring a premium, service-oriented bicycle retailer into the online realm with a top-level online store. We have great products, hands-on experience, and a local perspective on all our products and need our website and online presence to reflect this. Our in-store team is well regarded, experienced, and professional, and we want our online store to have the same flavor. We have the Shopify framework already in place, and are looking for someone to move it through the last steps of setup and load it with our product.


To accomplish profitability and help support the continued growth and success of the online store and further develop our online presence, this position requires the person to take on the following responsibilities:

Reports to: Business owner and store manager

Online Store Responsibilities

  • Setup final pieces of shipping and payment facilities

  • Develop menu framework, categories, collections, and tags

  • Ongoing improvements and fine tuning of functions

  • Provide information to owner on requirements for further development/functionality

  • Develop, test, and train in-store team on order fulfillment functions

  • Report to proper people on discrepancies in price, inventory numbers

  • Load photos, prices, links and product data for individual items

  • Expand online store offerings each week

  • Documentation of all processes

  • Reporting on sales and traffic

On-Site Responsibilities

  • Re-categorize products in store Point of Sale software (Tower Systems) for proper uploading and online store data sharing

  • Price changes to items in POS

  • Prepare batches of items for upload to website


The following responsibilities will also be required to fulfill business needs:

  • Physical inventory counts and adjustments

  • Working with 3rd party SEO and website developers on strategies within the online store

  • Manage periodic sales and specials as directed

  • Cross-check prices with vendors and correct as needed


It would be helpful if the candidate has/can:

  • Experience in cycling and a basic understanding of bicycle terminology

  • Worked with Shopify platforms previously

  • Spend up to one day per week in our store with our team in Bentleigh, VIC

  • Understand UX and can help translate our store’s unique language and strategies into our online store
