Retail store manager - Sydney
Reid Cycles is a leading Australian bicycle brand with 5 stores in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide. We also operate a thriving online store. Founded in 2009 as a disrupter to the industry, Reid has grown to be the largest Australian owned bicycle brand being sold in 23 countries globally. We design world class quality bikes, manufacture and in Australia sell direct to the public exclusively through our own stores and website.
“I joined Reid as the Sydney store manager in March 2012 while in Australia on a working holiday visa from the UK. During my time with Reid Australia, I got results and was given a lot of opportunity. I was quickly promoted to National Sales Manager then General Manager. My Fiancée and I wanted to return to the UK to get married and start a family. James Reid, the Founder, proposed we continue working together and set up an office in the UK and start distributing globally, which we did. We now have a team of 6 in the UK where we distribute Reid bikes to 23 countries globally. I’m now the Managing Director and a shareholder of Reid Bikes Ltd, the global distribution arm. At Reid, if you take initiative, work hard and get results there is great opportunity.”
Rob Akam, Managing Director, Reid UK.
“I started with Reid as a salesperson 2012 at the Melbourne store. I was promoted to assistant manager, then store manager. I like to travel and surf and Reid has allowed me to do this, I have lived in different cities in Australia managing Reid stores. Earlier this year when there was talk of us opening a Brisbane store, I put my hand up to move to Brisbane and run the store. I’m loving the warm weather and surf beaches close(ish) to Brisbane. I love working for Reid, the team are very supportive and allow me to grow in my career”
Richie Hide, Reid Brisbane Manager
