About the Role:
We are growing!!! As a result we are currently looking for a gun Industrial/Product Designer with significant experience developing consumer products in a fast paced environment.
As a Senior Industrial Designer you will be a critical team member, responsible for helping to develop and deliver exciting and innovative commercial product design solutions.
What you will be doing:
Developing and creating commercially viable product design solutions across all of the Quad Lock market segments that taking into consideration (DFM)
Conduct testing to ensure product design solutions meet both statutory and reliability requirements
Assist in conducting IP & patent searches where applicable
Responsible for the full creative design process including concept ideation, sketching and prototyping
Engage with the Sales and broader Quad Lock team to identify product design opportunities within existing and new market segments
Research and analyse competitors’ key product characteristics and benefits
Liaise and communicate with our manufacturing team
Work collaboratively with Sales, Marketing, Production and Logistics to successfully launch products on time
What are we looking for?
An Industrial Designer with extensive experience in delivering highly creative and innovative product design solutions that are consumer driven and market leading
Experience in design for manufacture with a strong understanding of processes, materials, costs and constraints
Ability to understand and follow project design briefs with related costing analysis
Proficient in 3D CAD software is essential (Solidworks)
Excellent knowledge of 3D rendering software packages (Keyshot)
Ability to create 2D control drawings with associated BOM’s
Experience in basic mechanical engineering principles e.g., moving parts, lever mechanisms, etc.
Experience designing parts for injection Moulding, Die casting, machining etc.
Understanding of material characteristics and properties.
Exceptional communication, problem solving skills
Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and budgets
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to communicate ideas rapidly through the use of sketching (pen & paper, Photoshop, Illustrator etc) from high level requirements.
