At the same time, we are evolving and getting smarter at how we deliver customer facing solutions through bringing together new and existing transport modes, and introducing cutting edge. Through this we are delivering more connected , journeys, greater satisfaction and safer transport for our customers, both now and into the future.

The Division

The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play. We have the single biggest place making opportunity at Transport in the coming years, reshaping Greater Sydney into a metropolis of three cities – Eastern Harbour City, Central River City and Western Parklands City - whilst also overseeing the Greater Sydney region as a whole.

About Active Transport

Walking and cycling are integral to our transport system and is key to everything we do on a day to day basis. Walking and cycling is now given the highest priority in how we design transport networks that support place outcomes and for access to key centres and public transport. It generates the highest number of trips by any mode with over 1.1 billion trips a year recorded across NSW, which includes around 600 million trips associated with a public transport journey. The NSW Government has committed to investing a further $710 million into walking and cycling infrastructure over the next four years. This brings the NSW Government’s total commitment to walking and cycling infrastructure to well over $1.1 billion, the largest commitment in the State’s history.

What we do? Come and join the champions for walking and cycling in TfNSW with an exciting remit that takes a portfolio approach in directing, planning and delivering tangible and sustainable community facing outcomes. Active Transport is part of everything we do and critical for enabling and planning travel choices that are both human friendly and effective in supporting liveable places. It is affordable, effective and available for the majority, enables our systems to be more resilient, and through change will allow more people to naturally make healthier lifestyle choices.
