Sportswear designer & Product developer - Melbourne
As a key member of MAAP’s Product Design team, you will play a crucial role in shaping how MAAP develops innovative and performance-driven cycling apparel.
From managing the creation and execution of Tech packs, to overseeing general design tasks, you are completely at home in a fast-paced, creative team, demonstrating high-level strategic thinking and tackling day-to-day details.
Reporting into the Head of Design, you are responsible for managing the design assistant, while working closely with the Senior designer and Senior Product developer to further develop our industry-leading product ranges.
Though every day is different, your role will look like a mixture of the below:
Drive and manage the Tech pack process.
Handling of daily design team tasks related to the end-to-end Product Development process.
Line plan updating and general clerical work relating to the Product team.
Support with sourcing of fabric and trims from various global mills and suppliers.
Liaise with key factories on design / development related queries and tasks.
Support the Senior product developer with fit related matters, including fit comments consolidation and garments measuring when required.
Team-oriented partnership to ensure the correct product is delivered in accordance with design, merchandising, technical and quality requirements.
Work seamlessly with your Design and Product counterparts.
A few things that you’ve likely done in previous and current roles:
Demonstrated borderline obsessive attention to detail during the product design / development process.
Achieved solid literacy with Adobe Suite and Office Suite, with strong competency in Adobe Illustrator.
Proven a sound understanding of the design process, with strong tech pack creation skills and a methodical attention to detail.
Prior experience in other technical sports / cycling brands a bonus.
Created functional and enduring relationships with premium international garment suppliers.
Capable of reviewing process and providing insights / ways of improvement.
A minimum of 4 years experience in a design / development role.
