About the Role The Transport Infrastructure Management Branch provides expert solutions and products to facilitate the ongoing management of our civil assets and associated services. The Branch takes a service outcome focus in deriving solutions that may then be delivered through assets, operations or combinations of the two to satisfy the specific need or council policy /direction. This role assists in implementing existing and new travel behaviour change programs to reduce car use and monitor the effectiveness of the programs. It also assists in implementing Council’s Sustainable Transport Strategy, Active Transport Plan and other transport policies and programs to encourage walking, cycling and public transport.

  • Support the travel behaviour change projects across a range of settings on the Sunshine Coast to reduce single occupancy vehicle use

  • Co-ordinate and promote sustainable transport events and activities in the community as required and manage event delivery budgets

  • Develop and distribute educational and promotional materials that support Council’s Travel Behaviour Change and sustainable transport strategies

  • Support the Team Leader – Sustainable Transport Services in the development and implementation of relevant elements identified in Council’s Think Change Travel Behaviour Change Strategy

This position requires working across the region to engage with community organisations and business to foster travel behaviour change initiatives. About you As a requirement of this role, you will possess tertiary qualifications in project management, sustainability, environmental management, transport planning or other relevant discipline. As a professional in Sustainable Transport Services, you will have demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively within the Council framework and is outcome focused You will have experience providing senior level project support, including co-ordinating key aspects of project management such as project planning, budget tracking, monitoring, reporting and issue resolution You must demonstrate a strong interest in environmental issues and the promotion of physical activity.
