Trail Coordinator - Great Ocean Road

GREAT OCEAN ROAD COAST AND PARKS AUTHORITY


Established on 1 December 2020, the Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority manages, protects, rehabilitates and fosters resilience of the natural, cultural and heritage values of coastal Crown land and marine waters along the Great Ocean Road.

We are currently seeking a full time Trail Coordinator to join the Planning team for a fixed term of 3 years.

The Planning team focuses on designing, developing, and delivering strategic coastal reserve projects and improvements on Authority managed land. The team are responsible for liaising and managing coordination with government agencies, funding partners, other external authorities, as well as internally to design, develop, and delver key strategy and coastal reserve projects.

The Trail Coordinator is responsible for leading the design, development, implementation, and external liaison required for new and existing trail networks within Great Ocean Road Coast and Parks Authority managed land and the coordination of a regional trails framework withing the broader Great Ocean Road region. The position is primarily responsible for:

  • Develop and monitor a system to monitor all trail development in the region, ensuring their strategic alignment

  • Develop agreed levels of service for trails and design guidelines

  • Create a system of live data collection on trial utilisation and associated infrastructure

  • Develop a regional promotion strategy for the entire trail network ensuring consistency in interpretation and activation

  • Develop a pipeline of trail upgrades and developments with partner organisations. Co-ordinate external business partners in the development, design, specification and delivery of related projects

  • Work with government agencies, consultants and community representatives to ensure communication and the development of the project design is inclusive and respectful of organisational priorities

  • Lead and manage innovative consultation and partnerships with communities through planning and delivery of key projects and strategies
