Transport planning manager cycling - Sydney

The Division

The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.

The opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Transport Planning Manager, Cycling Customer to join our Strategic Transport Planning team. This role will see you focussing on the development of TfNSW’s long-term cycling strategies throughout NSW and contributing to driving the direction for sustained growth in safe bike-riding to align with Future Transport 2056 strategy objectives.

You will proactively develop and maintain productive and positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including other NSW government agencies and local councils, managing competing work priorities and contribute to project planning and reporting to ensure accurate progress.

About you

You are a highly experienced Transport Planning Manager with demonstrated skills and background in cycling transport strategy, looking for an opportunity to support safer and increased cycling through the preparation of strategic transport plans and long-term transport projects and initiatives. You are across a lot of the technical details such as engineering and design that will be needed as part of projects that require strong cycling strategy representation and also have a good understanding of available cycling data and best-practice metrics and performance measures.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of transport planning for cyclists, including best practices locally and abroad. Ideally, you will have 5‐10 years experience in a relevant strategy, planning or policy position.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is TfNSW Grade 9 ($135,898 - $152,204) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
