Workshop manager - Launceston


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to live and work in our mid to high-end trailhead location nestled in the heart of Australia’s best and fastest-growing MTB destination Derby.

The position of Head Mechanic/Workshop Manager will be responsible for coordinating and completing maintenance and repairs to our store hire fleet along with completing small repairs to off-trail walk in customers bikes and assisting with retail sales.

The role will involve working on bikes, ordering workshop components, supervising mechanical staff, assisting with rosters, and coordinating the daily workflow of mechanical staff. The person who fills this position must be highly organised, time-efficient, a good communicator (verbal, phone) and focused on both the small daily details the long-term goals of the store’s operation.

This position will suit someone who has has extensive experience working in and/or managing bike shops.


  • You must be a top-quality bicycle mechanic with extensive experience on a wide range of bikes.

  • You must be willing to work to tight deadlines, being highly productive while managing other people.

  • You must have a strong knowledge of the bicycle industry, parts, consumables, accessories suppliers etc.

  • You must be willing to work weekends, public holidays during peak periods.

  • You must be willing to be a team player, a lateral thinker, and a hard worker.

Role commences in September
