Cytech technical one

Technical one is the foundation of all the Cytech technical courses and ensures candidates develop core competencies in skills fundamental to professional cycle maintenance.

What does this course include?


Technical one is intended to be the minimum standard to which all mechanics should work and includes theory and practical training and assessment in the following areas:

  • Health & Safety

  • Workshop practices

  • Conforming to manufacturing standards

  • Pre-delivery inspection

  • Adjustment, set-up & frame alignment

  • Torque wrench settings

  • Lubricants & greases

  • Tyres & tubes

  • Consumer legislation

How long is the course?


There are two parts to Cytech technical one, both need to be completed to receive the full technical one qualification:

Theory one can be completed as a distance learning course from the comfort of your own home, and you will receive a 'Cytech technical one - theory' certificate when you pass.

Technical one - practical takes two days and a 'Cytech technical one - practical' certificate will be issued when you pass. 

To gain the full Cytech technical one qualification, both the Theory one and Cytech technical one - practical courses need to be completed, at which point you will receive a full 'Cytech technical one' certificate.
