Bike technician - Sunshine Coast

About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced, practical bike mechanic to support our Head Mechanic and help maintain a high standard of workshop output across servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and bike builds.

You will play an important support role to our Head Mechanic in the day-to-day flow of the workshop, while also assisting in other areas of the business when needed, including customer handovers, front counter sales support, stock management, merchandising, and general shop operations.

This role suits someone who is confident on the tools, takes pride in quality workmanship, loves cycling, has a great attitude, and is willing to contribute wherever needed when workshop demand allows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out bike servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and builds to a high standard

  • Support the Head Mechanic in the day-to-day running and workflow of the workshop

  • Assist with workshop organisation, cleanliness, tooling, and efficiency

  • Identify mechanical issues and recommend practical repair or upgrade solutions

  • Communicate directly and clearly with customers about service work, timelines, bike care, and upgrade options when needed

  • Support customer handovers so bikes leave the shop safe, set up correctly, and ready to ride

  • Assist customers at the front counter during busy periods

  • Help with stock management, receiving, unpacking, labelling, and general stock organisation

  • Assist with merchandising and shop presentation as needed

  • Work closely with the wider team and contribute wherever needed across the business

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a bike mechanic

  • Strong hands-on mechanical ability across servicing, repairs, and bike builds

  • Practical workshop experience, enough to be a reliable support to our Head Mechanic from day one

  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean, safe, high-quality work

  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment

  • Great communication skills and the ability to speak confidently with customers

  • A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider shop when needed

  • Reliable, proactive, and team-focused

  • E-bike experience is a bonus

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends as required
