MTB Mechanic Lead Hand - Thredbo

As the MTB Lead Hand Mechanic, you will be working with the MTB Head Mechanic to provide exceptional customer service to all guests and ensuring that the MTB Workshop is operating at optimal levels. You will be required to familiarise yourself with Thredbo’s wide variety of mountain biking & summer activities products so you can provide the customer with accurate recommendations.

If you’re a challenge seeker that can:

  • Assist with the daily operations of the Thredbo MTB Mechanical workshop

  • Assist with workshop stock levels are maintained through on-time ordering and accurate receiving of workshop deliveries

  • Assist with stocktakes. Analyse results and develop strategies to reduce stock shrinkage.

  • Scheduled maintenance - Along with daily servicing, ensure that a comprehensive maintenance plan and records are kept for rental inventory for major parts such as suspension components, brakes, frame pivot points, drive trains etc.

  • Assist with retail sales, rental fit-out and event operations

  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge in the servicing & maintenance of the latest suspension, drivetrain & brake products

  • Bring a strong knowledge in wheel building, of the mountain bike industry, and the latest products & current trends

  • Provide information on Thredbo, Kosciuszko National Park and the surrounding areas.

  • Fun, young at heart and adventurous

  • All about making the guests experience

  • An intermediate to advanced mountain bike rider with a focus on gravity riding

  • Experienced in tourism with strong customer service skills

  • Passionate about Thredbo, Kosciuszko National Park and the alpine region

  • A strong team player

  • Co-operative, positive and has a professional attitude

… plus you have the experience and skills:

  • 2+ Years of Bicycle Mechanic experience building and servicing, within a professional retail environment

  • Relative industry technical training cert. in the areas of modern suspension and braking systems

  • SRAM Tech cert.(level 1)

  • Shimano T.E.C.

  • Fox Technical Training – Basic Course

  • Proficient in the use of POS systems, inventory software, etc.

  • Current NSW Working With Children’s Check
