The Operations Team Leader (Logistics & Deliveries) is a multi-faceted role, where you’ll be a key player in helping build our Logistics and Deliveries services. Initially, you will have the opportunity to undertake any/all of the roles that make the Good Deliveries/Logistics team function - however, as the team grows, you will transition to supervising the staff conducting the tasks - only filling in when required.
EXAMPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Provide leadership and direction to all staff, in order that they deliver a quality service and remain motivated.
Organise staff roster, timesheets and reviews as well as recruit & train new staff
Manage team performance to meet expectations on attendance, customer service and delivery targets.
Task riders effectively and ensure all deliveries are made to a high standard
Ensure the hub is managed appropriately - H&S etc
Ensure we have a fleet of fully operational, clean and well-maintained vehicles
Provide financial oversight of daily expenses, ensuring projects are within agreed budgets.
Take an active and leading role in ensuring all plant, assets and equipment are available when required and are in excellent and safe condition.
Work proactively with the Impact team and coaches to ensure youth employment program participants are able to meet performance expectations.
Ensure the physical space is set up and working efficiently and safely.
Support the Senior Operations Manager and GM - Good Logistics to perform their duties
SELECTION CRITERIA
What are we looking for?
Demonstrated experience leading teams of staff in similar work environments.
Skills and experience relevant for a Delivery Team member - demonstrated experience in a delivery/courier environment
Physically fit and capable of riding a cargo bike in traffic.
Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role or 2 years in an operations leadership role
High quality interpersonal skills
Ability to work autonomously and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
Excellent ability to prioritise competing demands, keep things moving and escalate when appropriate
Consistent drive to improve and problem solve
