Position Scope:
As a member of MAAP’s management team, you will play a crucial role in shaping how MAAP brings innovative, progressive and performance-driven cycling apparel to market and drives commercial outcomes and profitability.
Though every day is different, your role will look like a mixture of the below:
Pre-Season
Define and execute a 5 year Planning strategy that supports the business growth and vision.
Build a budget by class and country that will achieve the company sales target, maximise profitability and maintain inventory health.
Work with the Product Team to define the product strategy and build the financial plan and option plans to achieve sales, profit and inventory budgets.
Define and review the pricing and margin strategy with the Production Manager to ensure profit budgets are achieved.
Develop class open to buy (OTB) budgets across all regions and options plans in line with the overall planning strategy and inventory KPIs
Be heavily involved in the product ranging process by making recommendations for future initiatives and opportunities relating to driving sales and profit performance.
In-Season
Deliver a monthly sales re-forecast by class and channel that reflects current sales trends, accurate profit margins and accounts for all future committed and planned purchases.
Identify and communicate business risks and opportunities along with impacts & recommendations to the Exec Leadership Team.
Review delivery dates and help to align product launches ensuring the best outcome for the total business
Monitor purchase orders and pre-orders to ensure the stock purchased is allocated with a high level of accuracy
Identify potential markdown lines and discount levels for each sale period with a focus on balancing margin erosion and inventory health.
Report on and provide detailed weekly, monthly and seasonal class analyses regarding the performance of sales, inventory, sell throughs and profit at a class and style level
Capture learnings from post seasonal analysis and use this to build future plans that maximise on miss opportunities and reduce any future risks
Monitor the performance and inventory levels of our icon styles to ensure healthy levels at all times
Leadership
Lead and develop the planning team
Collaborate with and influence cross-functional teams, including Sales, Production and Product teams to execute agreed objectives.
Take ownership of solving business problems, even when they fall outside the planning remit.
Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure critical path dates are maintained and fabric liability is at a minimum.
The Ideal Candidate:
At least 8 years of proven experience in Merchandise Planning / Demand Planning.
Strong commercial acumen and numerical skills, high levels of attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
Effective negotiation and influencing skills
Ability to observe, analyse and act on customer and market trends and demands
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
