About the role:
We are looking for a hands-on bicycle mechanic to help manage the workshop, new bike builds, mechanical jobs and running of a small mechanic team. We are after a passionate team member willing to contribute to the business, grow and offer honest feedback to help shape our business. As we are a small team and looking for someone that can be flexible and has the willingness to learn.
This role is a Full time and will be a Monday – to Friday role. However occasional Saturday may be need. The business runs from 9am-5:30pm. However start and finish times can be negotiated.
Qualifications & experience
Strong people skills
Strong communication skills
Excellent customer service experience
Strong Bike mechanic experience
Ability to perform physical duties include moving and storing stock
Strong problem solving skills
Dedicated and motivated work ethic
Ability to work well in a team and autonomously
Can-do attitude & Strong Teamwork skills
A desire to help people.
Ability to ride a bike competently and a genuine interest in cycling
Experience managing people
Motorbike license – would be a bonus
Mechanic certificate - would be a bonus
Tasks & responsibilities
Provide mechanic advice to customers
Provide strong customer service
Report directly to the store manager and help manage the workshop
Answer and respond to phone calls and emails and solve any issues that may arise.
Manage the workshop jobs
This is most likely be a 50% admin and 50% on the tools
Prepared to learn how electric bikes work and be up to date with the latest systems.
Manage warranty and parts ordering.
Help manage a small mechanic team.
Help set up and pack up the store.
