Assistant workshop manager - Adelaide

About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on bicycle mechanic to help manage the workshop, new bike builds, mechanical jobs and running of a small mechanic team. We are after a passionate team member willing to contribute to the business, grow and offer honest feedback to help shape our business. As we are a small team and looking for someone that can be flexible and has the willingness to learn.

This role is a Full time and will be a Monday – to Friday role. However occasional Saturday may be need. The business runs from 9am-5:30pm. However start and finish times can be negotiated.

Qualifications & experience

  • Strong people skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Excellent customer service experience

  • Strong Bike mechanic experience

  • Ability to perform physical duties include moving and storing stock

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Dedicated and motivated work ethic

  • Ability to work well in a team and autonomously

  • Can-do attitude & Strong Teamwork skills

  • A desire to help people.

  • Ability to ride a bike competently and a genuine interest in cycling

  • Experience managing people

  • Motorbike license – would be a bonus

  • Mechanic certificate - would be a bonus

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Provide mechanic advice to customers

  • Provide strong customer service

  • Report directly to the store manager and help manage the workshop

  • Answer and respond to phone calls and emails and solve any issues that may arise.

  • Manage the workshop jobs

  • This is most likely be a 50% admin and 50% on the tools

  • Prepared to learn how electric bikes work and be up to date with the latest systems.

  • Manage warranty and parts ordering.

  • Help manage a small mechanic team.

  • Help set up and pack up the store.
