Bicycle mechanic - Brisbane


EveryBody eBikes is a specialist electric bike business that has two main markets; sustainable active transport including cargo bikes, recreational and commuter bikes and customised trikes for people with a disability.  

We are looking for a bicycle mechanic with experience at a senior level, who is willing to embrace our culture and wants to be involved with a company that changes people's lives and makes a positive impact on the environment.

The successful applicant will have proven and demonstrated workshop experience as this is a hands-on role with the ability to work independently completing bike builds, services and repairs and interacting in this customer-facing role.

Based in the retail shop in Lutwyche and supported, where required by our larger mechanical team based in Banyo, this role is ideal for a self-starter who can undertake consistent, quality work in a time-sensitive and profitable business. 

Experience 

Well-developed bicycle mechanical skills with a minimum of 3- 5 years experience, including hands-on experience at a senior level

Able to work within a demanding environment either independently or as part of a technical team 

Mechanical skills to build, service and repair a wide range of bicycles, with confidence and to exacting quality standards

Strong customer service and communication skills with staff and customers in store and on the phone.

Have a committed “right first time” delivery attitude 

Working knowledge of Bosch and Bafang ebike systems

Troubleshooting of electric bikes desirable but not essential 

Ability to perform tasks autonomously and to work to a tight time schedule without compromising quality

Experience and a commitment to consistently using computer-based ticketing system and CRM

Responsibilities include:

-         Coordination of all post-sales activities in a small, dedicated workshop

-          Scheduling and pricing bookings and liaising with customers before, during and on completion of service work 

-         Servicing and repairs to a large range of  bicycles in a professional and timely matter.

-          Assembling and building bicycles for customers and the shop floor. 

-          Completing pre-dispatch/pre-collection inspections on new builds

-         Quoting and invoicing of service work including parts and labour

-          Ordering and re-ordering workshop parts and maintaining stock levels in workshop

-         Maintaining accurate and complete customer records and entering service ticket notes and updates on a daily basis

-          Assisting with Front of House sales of ebikes and P&A on the shop floor if needed

-          Maintaining a clean and organized workshop and providing weekly updates to management on service revenue, jobs delivered, upcoming jobs and ways to promote and increase bookings and generate revenue

What we offer 

If you have excellent mechanical skills and working knowledge of electric bikes then we can provide an opportunity to gain experience working with the largest range of standard 2 wheel electric bikes, cargo bikes and customised trikes.  

We are NOT your average bike shop. 

We welcome applicants seeking part-time work approx 24-32 hrs per week and someone interested in working Saturdays.
