Bike mechanic - Hobart

Role Overview

As a Bicycle Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, building new bikes, and ensuring every customer leaves feeling confident in their ride. You'll work closely with our team to deliver exceptional service and maintain a well-organised workshop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on a wide range of bicycles

  • Build new bikes to manufacturer specifications

  • Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend solutions

  • Interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace

  • Manage and organise tools, parts, and workshop inventory

  • Assist with sales or technical questions when needed

About You

  • 3+ years of experience in a bicycle mechanic or service tech role

  • Loves bikes — any type, any style

  • Strong understanding of bicycle systems: brakes, drivetrains, wheels, suspension, e-bikes (nice to have)

  • A commitment to precision, safety and attention to detail

  • Confident customer communication and problem-solving skills

  • Customer-service oriented with clear communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Passion for cycling and the cycling community
