Abbotsford cycles is a small shop specialising in repairs. We pride ourselves on providing quality workmanship. We are a unique shop as we don't sell any bikes. This shop can be quite a high pace enviroment during morning and evening peaks, with always things to do. We work on an array of bikes, so you'll never work on the same bike twice. Established in the early 80's, we are an older bike shop so we have a unique range of tools & equipment. We also specialise in touring & bikepacking, so any intrest in this style of riding is welcomed! 

About the role

The position is full time with some Saturday work required. Working in a small team you will be required to repair a wide variety of bicycles. Experience with internal gears, wheel building and other specialised areas will be highly valued. While this position will be workshop based you will also be required to assist sales staff when required.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• General servicing

• Smaller repairs such as brake bleeds, gear cable replacements, wrapping bars etc.

• Knowledge in repairs such as helicoiling, frame tapping/facing, internal gear hub servicing, wheel building are all jobs done by Abbotsford Cycles, knowledge in this area is valued, but can be taught. 

• Good customer service, as assisting on retail is sometimes neccessary

Skills and experience

• Previous experience in the bicycle industry is required

• Excellent knowledge of bicycles, parts and accessories required

• Enthusiastic about bicycles and working in the industry

• Ability to learn quickly and good multitasking skills

• Excellent communication skills

• Proven job stability

• Punctual and reliable

• Basic computer skills
