Bicycle Mechanic / Retail Assistant – Giant North Lakes

Giant North Lakes opened its new purpose-built store in April and we are now seeking an experienced and motivated Bicycle Mechanic to join our growing team. This role requires previous bicycle mechanic experience, with the ability to support customers on the retail floor when required.
In addition to this position, we also have opportunities for Retail Sales Assistants to join our expanding team.

About the Role – Bicycle Mechanic / Retail Assistant
The Bicycle Mechanic / Retail Assistant is responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical work, exceptional customer service and supporting general store operations. You will work closely with the Store Manager and workshop team to ensure all repairs, builds and services meet Giant’s standards.
Key Responsibilities
Workshop Duties
Perform bicycle servicing, repairs and diagnostics across all categories (mountain, road, e-bike, kids).
Assemble new bicycles to manufacturer specifications.
Conduct safety checks, tune drivetrains, bleed hydraulic brakes and complete general workshop tasks.
Manage workshop workflow, bookings and turnaround times.
Maintain a clean, organised and efficient workshop environment.
Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair requirements, costs and completion timelines.
Retail & Sales Support
Assist customers with bike selection, sizing and accessory recommendations when required.
Demonstrate product features and provide clear, accurate information.
Process sales, exchanges and online order collections.
Restock and maintain merchandising standards on the sales floor.
Support the retail team during peak periods and promotional events.
About You

Essential Requirements
Previous bicycle mechanic experience is required.
Strong understanding of modern bicycle standards, components and service procedures (including e-bikes).
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Strong customer service skills and a professional, approachable manner.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Availability to work weekends when required.
Desirable
Experience in bicycle retail or a similar customer-facing role.
Familiarity with Giant and Liv products.
