THE ROLE
As a Full-Time Bike Mechanic, you'll deliver professional servicing 4–5 days per week from our Marrickville workshop (located near the Metro with reserved parking). You'll work independently and collaboratively, supported by experienced mechanics and equipped with industry-standard tools.
Core Responsibilities:
Routine Servicing & Maintenance
• Complete tune-ups, brake adjustments, and drivetrain cleaning
• Wheel truing, tube replacements, and cable/housing work
• Pre-ride safety checks and diagnostic assessments
Advanced Technical Work
• Hydraulic disc brake bleeding and system diagnostics
• Suspension servicing and headset overhauls
• Drivetrain upgrades (1x12 conversions, component compatibility)
• Wheel building and spoke tension analysis
E-Bike Specialisation
• Bosch and Shimano Steps motor diagnostics and firmware updates
• Battery health assessment and integration troubleshooting
• Mid-drive and hub-drive system maintenance
Finishing Services
• Professional bike washing and ultrasonic drivetrain cleaning
• RideWrap frame protection installation
• Custom build consultation and component assembly
Tools & Resources:
You'll have access to industry-standard Unior, Park, and Enduro tooling, comprehensive Shimano and SRAM parts inventory, and specialist components. All tools and equipment are maintained to professional workshop standards.
WHAT YOU BRING
Essential Requirements:
• Proven workshop experience: You've worked as a bike mechanic in a professional or serious home-shop environment, or you're an exceptional home mechanic ready to work at commercial pace
• Professional experience requirement: Minimum of 1 year professional bike mechanic workshop experience is required for this position
• Valid driver's license: Essential for participating in our mobile mechanic operations and van-based servicing
• Driver's licence flexibility: Both Australian and international driver's licences are acceptable for this role
• Attention to technical detail: You diagnose mechanical issues methodically, communicate findings clearly, and take ownership of workmanship quality
• Reliability and professionalism: You arrive on schedule, ready to work. You understand that our 30-day workmanship guarantee reflects our commitment to excellence
• Customer-facing communication: You explain technical issues in accessible language without condescension
Advantageous Qualifications:
• Bosch or Shimano e-bike training certification (or willingness to complete accredited training)
• Experience servicing multiple bike disciplines (road, MTB, gravel, e-bike)
• Custom wheel-building experience
• Familiarity with workshop management systems or service documentation
• Additional qualifications (suspension certification, drivetrain specialisation)
