We are seeking a strong and committed mechanic to join the team. This person will ultimately be the face of Wembley Cycles and will therefore needs exceptional customer service skills and industry knowledge.
Wembley Cycles has a broad customer base and caters for all types of cyclists. We sell road, mountain, recreation and children’s bikes. Our brands include Specialized, Santa Cruz, Cervelo and a large range of parts and accessories.
We pride ourselves in having built a network of loyal customers and put continual effort to ensuring strong lasting relationships with all clients. Wembley Cycles takes immense pride in not being just a retail shop. We actively support mountain bike trail development, sponsor a range of riders in various disciplines, provide shop rides, host in-house shop events, run one of Perth’s largest mountain biking events through our sister company Single Track Minds, and have our own café to create a hub of activity in our shop.
Job tasks and responsibilities
The job will be Tuesday to Saturday doing a 38.5 hour week
To meet our operational goals, mission and customer satisfaction you will undertake the following responsibilities:
Service any type of bike
Be comfortable bleeding hydraulic brakes
Familiar with electronic gears
Familiar with e-bike technology
High levels of communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and return business
Sales of bikes and accessories
Continual improvement and efficiency assessment of all internal processes
Communication with customers regarding the progress of their orders
Maintain a clean and presentable work space including showroom and storerooms
Other duties as assigned
Require skills and experience
Experience in the following areas are necessary to meet the position's minimum requirements:
Previous experience in the bicycle retail environment.
Able to use basic computer programs
Five or more years in bicycle retail
Must be a current and avid cyclist in any disciplines
Knowledge of major bike trends, products and brands
High computer literacy in Microsoft Word products
Friendly and approachable personality with strong social skills
