Biked is a locally owned, family business. We specialise in bike tours, hires, & servicing, our store is located in the heart of Palm Cove, Cairns.
We love bikes, we love to ride or tour here in the beautiful far north tropics of Australia and we need a similar minded person to join our team. Whether its road, mountain, gravity, CX or recreational biking our shop offers a range of bikes and accessories, most importantly we have the knowledge and familiarity needed to enjoy this area and pass this passion onto those visiting the region.
Since every bike, destination and rider is different, what we don’t have is a template or script as to how your day will play out, every day is different when helping riders, customers and employees enjoy their time here. This means your role will vary depending on the season and where the opportunities lie as our store grows.
We are happy to offer training in Bicycle sales/mechanics/tour guiding to the right person, someone who has a passion for the industry.
You will need to be flexible with availability, weekend availability is a must. An advanced roster will be implemented with shifts required for work, however we will work with you to find a happy medium.
This role is advertised as Part Time however could very quickly and easily lead to full time work.
You will be responsible for day to day operations of the store including:
• product and services merchandising including purchasing, ordering and display;
• customer relations including talking with and helping customers make well informed choices, this includes tours, hires and servicing.
• managing the rental fleet including service schedules, inventory and bookings;
and
• you’ll be the communication leader of the stores involvement in and with the riding community that lives here and those that visit.
Some qualities we feel you need:
• You must love bikes! Pure and simple. Our target market is gravel and MTB clients, so hands on experience in riding, maintaining or drooling over bikes is a clear advantage.
• a sense of humour and a love for life.
• demonstrated ability to work in and with a team;
• preferably at least three years general retail or hospitality experience ;
• excellent strategic and problem solving skills;
• effective communication and organisation skills;
• strong written and numeracy skills; and
• be proficient with computer systems.
