love bikes? Handy with tools? Want to be part of something exciting?Sydney Electric Bikes (SEB) is looking for an experienced Electric Bike Mechanic to join our fun, tight-knit crew in Pyrmont.

Now under new ownership, we’re entering an exciting growth phase — scaling the business, expanding services, and riding the wave of booming e-mobility. If you're into bikes, tech, and working with good people, this is your chance to jump on board at the perfect time.

 

About the Role

Based in our Pyrmont workshop, you’ll be servicing and repairing e-bikes — everything from standard tune-ups to advanced diagnostics and component replacements. We’ll provide training on the specific models and systems we use, but we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running and bring strong mechanical or electrical skills to the table.

You’ll be joining a small, experienced, and supportive team that genuinely enjoys the work — no egos, just solid teamwork and good energy.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Diagnose and repair issues with motors, batteries, brakes, controllers, drivetrains, and more

  • Perform general servicing, safety checks, and tune-ups

  • Use hand tools and electrical testing equipment (like multimeters)

  • Keep clear repair notes using our workshop software

  • Help maintain an organised, efficient, and fun workshop environment

  • Contribute to continuous improvement as we grow

Who We’re Looking For

You’ve ideally got experience in one of the following areas:

  • E-bike or bicycle servicing/repair

  • Automotive, electrical, or mechanical trades

And you bring:

  • Confidence with tools and solid mechanical instincts

  • Basic electrical knowledge and willingness to learn

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety

  • A great attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • A desire to be part of something growing and exciting

Ideally with certifications in, or studying:

  • Automotive and Engineering Trades

  • Automotive Mechanic or Automotive Electrician.  

  • Motorcycle Mechanic (Certificate III in Motorcycle Mechanical Technology)

  • Electrical Engineering


     

The Details

  • Location: Pyrmont, Sydney

  • Pay: $40 per hour + Super

  • Schedule: 3–5 days per week (flexible)

  • Penalty Rates: Paid for Sunday shifts

Please note: All applicants, regardless of experience, will be required to do a trial to showcase capabilities and experience in performing the required duties.
