Flow Mountain Bike is Australia’s leading mountain bike media outlet, and we’re looking for a highly capable content and comms professional to help grow our audience, sharpen our presence, and make sure our best content gets seen.
This is a part-time role (~20 hours/week), suited to someone who already understands the cycling world, has real experience managing digital platforms, and knows how to build engagement without hype or fluff.
What the role involves
This isn’t just about scheduling posts. It’s a multi-faceted role that blends content coordination, community engagement, syndication, and performance monitoring. Responsibilities include:
Managing Flow’s social channels (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)
Writing and publishing posts with strong, purposeful copy
Building and scheduling weekly EDMs (FlowMail via Mailchimp)
Preparing articles in our CMS (WordPress) and ensuring everything looks sharp
Creating engaging Stories and packaging content for reels, collabs and launches
Working with our editorial team to extract key messages and shape them for different platforms
Tracking social and website analytics and identifying trends and opportunities
A/B testing content styles, captions, tags and timing
Reporting performance and reach data back to the team and partners
Maintaining a calendar of upcoming posts and coordinating with internal deadlines
We’re looking for someone who can confidently say they have:
Genuine understanding of the off-road cycling scene
Genuine knowledge of the cycling media space
Proven experience running social media for a brand, publication or business
Familiarity with Meta Business Suite, YouTube Studio, Mailchimp, and Canva
Competency with content editing and publishing tools (WordPress, Adobe Suite preferred)
A clear grasp of audience behaviour, content trends, and strategic scheduling
Confidence writing captions, trimming reels, building EDMs, and formatting stories
Comfort interpreting data and making decisions based on analytics
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset — we’re a small team, and this role matters
Bonus points if you:
Know how to shoot or edit short-form content
Have worked in a digital publishing, media or communications role
Have experience building performance reports or campaign wrap-ups
Who we are
Flow Mountain Bike is proudly independent, audience-first, and built on a love of bikes and good content. We tell real stories, test gear honestly, explore trails properly, and care deeply about what we publish — and how we share it.
