We are currently seeking to appoint an Athlete Wellbeing and Engagement staff member to work with our able and para-cycling athletes, as part of our Performance Health and Wellbeing Team.

Now is a sensational time to join AusCycling as we prepare ourselves and our teams for history making performances in the lead up to major international events.

We are open to remote/ hybrid working arrangements.

About the role:

The Athlete Wellbeing & Engagement Lead is responsible for facilitating the personal development of AusCycling athletes.

The role purpose is to provide athletes with a structured, professional plan to support their off-bike endeavours and help navigate the key transition points throughout their cycling career and beyond.

This includes but is not limited to;

  • Providing strategic support to AusCycling, surrounding personnel care, wellbeing and engagement initiatives

  • Inform, educate, and guide athletes on support options

  • Improve/support athlete ability to effectively navigate the critical transition points throughout and beyond their sporting careers.

  • Engage in open, honest conversation to best support the needs and concerns of an athlete.

  • Ensure that athletes are equipped with the skills to thrive in a high performing environment.

About you:

We are looking for a genuine person with the proven ability to impact an organisation positively. You will bring a passion for people and an ability to engage, inspire and drive a positive culture and experience.

Ideally you will have knowledge or experience gained from the sporting sector, education, health, social and community services, personal development, wellbeing, or related fields.

The following would be advantageous.

  • High emotional intelligence

  • A passion for inspiring people to prosper and build confidence

  • Experience developing and maintaining trust-based relationships

  • Experience managing competing stakeholder demands and needs

  • Demonstrated experience in working with and managing different personalities, teams, and experts

  • Contemporary knowledge of issues impacting mental health and wellbeing.
