Bike mechanic - Brisbane


Studio de Velo is a premium bicycle retail store located in the Centenary Suburbs of Brisbane. Established in 2015 we have enjoyed consistent growth in a challenging market and look forward to growing the business and refining our operations to suit, whilst maintaining exceptional customer service and experience.

Essential Skills

  • Good mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn (bike industry experience preferred but not necessary)

  • Background in customer service industry valued highly

  • High level of professionalism and personal presentation,

  • Ability to consistently follow process and procedures,

  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal both face to face and phone, email and texting.

  • Basic bicycle mechanical knowledge,

  • Good level of computer literacy,

Position Description

  • Providing at all times an exceptional customer experience

  • Professional handling of customer service and warranty repair enquiries and bookings, as well as quoting repairs and insurance jobs

  • Following store procedures, including online bookings, repair order creation & closing off, job costing, recommending and quoting repair work, obtaining customer approval, bicycle handover

  • Estimating cost and time required to complete service work

  • Liaising with the head mechanic to ensure all repair work is booked accurately and consistently to allow them efficient work flow and customer satisfaction

  • Maintaining high level of presentation of the service reception and retail space

  • Working with retail staff when necessary, to assist in sales and customer engagement on the retail floor, answering phone calls, greeting customers

  • Working with the mechanics in the workshop on the tools, assisting in repairs, bike builds and services

  • Inventory management of workshop supplies and consumables in order to meet budget kpi’s and ensure consistent workflow and customer satisfaction by reducing turn around time

  • Occasional travel required for product launch & training events

  • Keeping customer booking systems updated, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity

Work Times

  • Tues, Wed, Fri 9.30am - 6pm, Thurs 9.30am - 7pm, Sat 9.30am - 3pm
