PSI Wholesale Group has three separate divisions-

PS Importers is the exclusive importer and distributor of world class motorcycles and scooters brands Triumph, Vespa, Moto Guzzi, Piaggio and Aprilia.  

PSI Cycling is the exclusive Australian importer and distributor of world class and innovative bicycle brands including Cannondale, GT Bicycles, Fabric, Fox Racing, Lezyne and the complete SRAM family of products including SRAM, Zipp, Quarq, RockShox, Avid and Truvativ. We are also the proud distributors of Goodyear bicycles tires and ABUS locks and helmets.

Fox Racing Australia is the exclusive Australian importer and distributor of global leading motocross and mountain biking gear and apparel. We outfit Australia’s elite athletes and enthusiasts with products that combine safety, innovation and style.

About the role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Financial Controller to co-lead a multi-disciplinary team and manage the finance accounting function for PSI Wholesale Group. This role is also responsible for maintaining the financial accounts of PS Importers including management and financial reporting.

This is a hand-on role that requires you to produce financial reports and actively manage your accountability areas to deliver outcomes and meet scheduled requirements.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will strategically partner with the business and work closely with senior leadership for continued business success. 

What you will be doing:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate, reliable and timely financial and management reporting to the established business schedule. 

  • Preparation of consolidated financial statements of the Group. 

  • Manage taxation statutory obligations: FBT, GST, PAYG & Payroll compliance.

  • Review warehousing data analytics, prepare inventory reporting and assist with inventory management. 

  • Preparation of sales & cashflow forecasts and reporting actual performance against forecast. 

  • Provide the financial insight and representation at the monthly stock and sales meetings. 

  • Management of relationships with internal stakeholders, external accountants, banks and financiers, insurers, and other suppliers.

  • Foreign exchange planning & analysis.

  • Manage the payroll function for 95 employees.

  • Manage and appraise individual performance, providing mentoring, coaching and training to support the continued development of direct reports. 

  • Actively look for opportunities to improve systems, policies and processes to increase efficiencies, reduce costs, minimise risk and ensure legal compliance. 

Your Profile:

You are driven and ambitious with high levels of competence, confidence, energy and determination. You enjoy being hand-on and getting into the detail. To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Degree in commerce, business, or accounting & CA/CPA certification.

  • 5+ years’ experience in management and financial accounting. 

  • Experience working in similar role within an importing/wholesaling business.

  • Proven business planning, analysis and budget management skills with high level of business and financial acumen. 

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills to liaise with senior management. 

  • People Leadership experience, coaching and developing others. 

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, delivering to short lead times when necessary. 

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail. 

  • A continuous improvement mindset, with capability to systemise and implement policies and processes for our financial success.

  • Experience working with ERP systems and leading projects would be advantageous. 

  • Enjoyment of motorcycling, cycling or adventure sports preferred but not essential.
