About the role The Australian Retail Manager is responsible for leading the Directly Owned Trek Stores (DOTS) Business to ensure we deliver a bicycle retail experience that offers amazing hospitality to our customers and changes the world by getting more people on bikes. The Retail Manager is a leader of leaders, helping the State District Managers and Operations teams to deliver outstanding customer service, meet all operating objectives, sales, and financial goals, and follow company policies and procedures. This role reports directly to the ANZ Country Manager and the APAC Retail Director. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute Trek's retail strategy within Australia
Full financial responsibility for the operation of the DOTS business
Identify and scrutinise future growth opportunities
Ensure smooth integration of new stores through acquisitions and greenfield locations
Execute global best practice, driving efficiencies and consistencies
Lead State District Managers and help develop the leadership base in all markets
Manage and oversee a Retail Team of 400 staff
Oversee a team that ensures smooth operations across the network
Work across functions with the Marketing, IT, HR, Finance and Customer Care teams to ensure the smooth operation of retail
Create a great place to work and ensures we have high performing teams in all retail stores
Requirements
10 years' experience in retail or similar industry
A passion for retail and demonstrated results
Over 3 years' experience in a senior management role
Ability to work cross-functionally across different businesses
Natural leader with a proven record of managing large teams. Desire to develop people and 'put the best team on the field'
Strong influencer. Builds strong stakeholder relationships & trust across the business
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Get to the point and articulate to a broad audience
Energetic and pro-active. Approachable, collaborative, and resilient
The flexibility to travel as required
