Store manager - Perth

We are currently looking for a Store Manager to manage our Port Kennedy Superstore. We are looking someone who can provide exceptional leadership behaviors, wants to run a business as if it was their own (and there are opportunities to become a shareholder), and does not mind getting their hands dirty both figuratively and literally.

With a small team to manage but with high volume it’s a fast pace role where you are exposed to all roles within your leadership role.

We stock and love Trek and base many parts of our business on the Trek way of doing business. We also stock many other leading brands of bikes and accessories.

It’s a turbulent time in the bicycling industry, a number of retailers are feeling the pinch and now we are seeing the leading names in online bicycle retailing potentially ending their business. But because of this and other factors we believe that a major opportunity exists for The Bike Place – bikeplace.com.au to become a major player in the Australian bicycling ecommerce space. We also believe we can grow our already massive offering here in WA.

About the role Reporting to the shareholders as the leader of the team, you will be responsible for the management and activities of all aspects of the store's operations including:

  • Coaching, driving, and inspiring your team to deliver on all performance objectives whilst creating a positive store culture.

  • Championing the Trek University training programme instore for your team.

  • Leading the team to deliver excellence in visual merchandising, operations, and store processes.

  • Establishing weekly, monthly, and annual objectives that tie to the overall store sales strategy and cost management plan.

  • Recruitment and Roster Management

  • Willingness to step into other roles in the business as needed, all our team are trained on basic bike maintenance – such as building, safety checks and puncture changes to help our customers get back or on their new bike ASAP.

Skills and experience You will have a passion for using your knowledge and experience to guide your customer towards their perfect bike, resulting in an exceptional customer experience. You are a confident decision maker with great communication skills. Additionally, you will have:

  • Demonstrated an ability to lead and work cooperatively in a team.
